1-Month Checkup

Adelyn had her 1-month pediatrician appointment today and weighs 9 pounds 12 ounces! I know some babies are born at that weight, but that's a gain of 3 pounds and 9 ounces in 4 weeks. I think that's great!! At birth she was in the 10th percentile and is now in the 60th. She's growing longer as well and now measures 21 1/4 inches. I guess milk really does do a body good! She received her second Hepatitis B shot which caused her to briefly cry, but she easily calmed down.

5 Weeks

Adelyn turned 5 weeks old on Monday. She smiles often, yet none appear to be social smiles at this point. No giggles either, but I sure am excited for those! She's began cooing, although it's sporadic.

"Misty Williams is a 32 year-old, married mother of three. Misty is currently battling stage 4 rectal cancer. She has already undergone 6 weeks of chemo and radiation and has had 3 surgeries to remove the cancer. Originally Misty was diagnosed with stage 3 rectal cancer, however during Misty's surgeries, they discovered cancer in her lymph nodes and lungs...upgrading her to stage 4."
